Let Your Light Shine

"In the same way, let Your good deeds shine out for all to see,
so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father."
Matthew 5:16 (NLT)

Shining your light is
  • a kind word spoken when encouragement is needed.
  • a comforting hug when someone is grieving.
  • helping when it's not your job.
  • embracing those who are looked down upon.
  • keeping your mouth shut when the words are better left unspoken.
  • doing what is right even when it feels or appears that no one else is.
  • bringing hot chocolate to one who has to be outside on a cold day.
  • choosing to forgive even when it isn't wanted or appreciated.
  • putting the needs of others above your own.
  • bringing a meal to a family who needs it.
  • writing a note of encouragement.
  • remembering and acknowledging a loss in someone's life.
  • making time to check on a friend who is struggling.
  • choosing to walk the hard and dark journeys of others with them pointing them to Christ.
