2011 in Pictures: May & June

In May, Logan graduated from Preschool.

He was given the Mr. Sweetness award!

Here he is with Miss Cheryl.

Logan and Miss MaryK:

Our family picture after the ceremony. Logan was being goofy and Lucas didn't want to take a picture.

We also helped our friend Melody celebrate her 2nd birthday at the Carousel at Parks Mall. Lucas and I riding the Carousel.

Logan and Melody's big sister Chelsea.

After the party, we took the boys to eat lunch at The Magic Time Machine in Addison.

In June, the school year finally ended for me. We had lots of breakfasts on the back patio and the boys swam a lot in our pool.

We went to Siah and Grayson house to play water balloons and watch the Mavs game.

The boys got donuts for Father's Day breakfast. We woke up Father's Day to find our water heater had busted and water all over our garage. Joshua and Papaw (his Dad) spent most of Father's Day cleaning up the mess and replacing our water heater.

Here's the boys on Father's Day helping Daddy and Papaw by staying out of the way.

2011 in Pictures: March & April

In March, we celebrated Grammie's birthday at Johnny Carino's. We lost all of those pictures though. :(

Our friend Joel dressed as the Cat in the Hat and read The Cat in the Hat Comes Back to help the kindergarteners at my school celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday.

Joshua took some vacation to be with us over Spring Break. We played Putt-Putt.

Rikki (one of my very best friends) and I went to the Third Day/Tenth Ave North concert with her Aunt and cousin. We ate at Red Lobster before the concert. We had so much fun! We were standing right in front of the stage...it was awesome!

We got new hair cuts!

In April, Logan stayed a weekend with Grandam & Papaw (Joshua's parents). Papaw let him ride the motorcycle by himself for the first time.

We took pictures in the bluebonnets one day after church.

We helped celebrate Duncan's first birthday. Lucas and Cadence were checking out his gifts while he was opening the rest.

Logan had family night and sang at his preschool TLC. Here they boys are with Grandma.

Here's Logan with my parents.

Here are the boys at our church's Easter egg hunt the day before Easter.

Here they are some of their very best friends Siah and Grayson after the egg hunt.

Later in the day, we dyed Easter eggs.

Logan and Lucas on Easter morning after finding their Easter baskets.

My sweet family on Easter morning before church.

My cousin Heather and Aunt Susie came over with Heather's daughters Madison and Chloe. They brought Easter eggs and Uncle Josh and Uncle Robert hid them in the backyard.

Logan and I started working on drawing a person step by step. I drew me and he drew himself. Logan stretched out the word mom and wrote it himself. I was so proud. Then he wrote his own name.

Logan had surgery to fix a muscle in his eye that was causing him to have lazy eye. Our little friend Joy had the same procedure done by the same doctor. Joy made him a little care package for his surgery. Joel Owen one of our very best friends came to be with Joshua and I during the surgery and prayed with us for Logan. We are so thankful for his spiritual leadership and friendship.

Logan had to wear sunglasses after his surgery, so of course Lucas had to wear sunglasses too!

Joel's wife Heather made us poppy seed chicken casserole, shells n cheese, crescent rolls, and fruit salad for dinner the day Logan had his surgery.

We took family pictures at our church.

2011 in Pictures: January & February

I was looking through old pictures and decided to go back and post about our year. I am sad though because I lost a lot of pictures when our computer crashed. I thought I had backed them up, but I hadn't. The pictures in this post I downloaded off of Facebook and are mostly mobile uploads so the quality isn't very good. I have not been very good about updating our family blog this year and my goal is to be better about it this coming year. I thought I would make up for the lack of posting in 2011 by doing this series of posts.

In January, we had several play dates with our friend Cadence and Duncan. Here's Lucas and Cadence driving the jeep the boys had gotten for Christmas.

We had fun swimming at Shelly's birthday party at the Kirby Creek Natatorium. They were so amazed that they could swim indoor during the winter!

Lucas had his first taste of lemon at Texas Roadhouse one Sunday after church...despite his first reaction he loves lemons.

Lucas asleep in the car on the way to church.

In February, Logan had a pajama day at school. He rode with Uncle Josh to pick me up from school and fell asleep.

This is my brother Josh with Lukie...Josh may be goofy, but there's nothing more in this world he loves than his nephews.

Christmas Morning

We woke up this morning to find Santa came!

Lucas loved the work bench Santa left him...

and Logan loved his flex force wrestling ring and WW12 Wii game!

Aunt Calli, Uncle Robert, and Uncle Josh came over bright and early this morning so they could see the boys open their presents and have Christmas brunch with us. Here's Aunt Calli with the Christmas ornaments she picked out for the boys!

This is one of the presents Grammie (my mom) gave Logan; he loved it til she held it up to her face and pushed the button to make it talk. It really freaked him out-he made us put it up where he couldn't see it. Grammie taking it back to the store with Lo so he can pick something else out.

Here we are after we finished opening presents.

Here are the boys with Uncle Robert and Aunt Calli...

and with Uncle Josh.

Here I am with Josh and Calli.

Justin's mom dropped him off around 12:45pm and then he opened his presents! I found this cute Cars coffee cups and hot cocoa set at Walmart. Justin and I love to drink hot cocoa together!

Here are the three boys together...notice Lukie is eating a cookie-he's my little snack monster!

 Here's all my boys together!

The boys with Grammie and Pepaw (my parents).

Me and my babies...I love them sooooo much!

I woke up this morning before the boys and while lying in bed, this verse on my heart: "The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy." Psalm 126:3 I began thinking of all the marvelous things He has done for my family this year and the miraculous ways He has worked in our lives. I'll share some of those things in another post. I'm still in awe of the greatest thing He has done for and everyone who has ever lived. My heart is filled with love and joy because Jesus Christ came as a baby, lived as one of us, died a horrific death-crucifixion on a cross, and raised again on the third day to redeem us to Himself! We will always have a merry Christmas if we truly celebrate Jesus' coming to earth.

Merry Christmas!
