A Sweet Moment

I caught the boys playing together quietly this morning before school. They were so sweet together. It made my heart happy.

First Day of Spring Semester

It's hard to believe Logan is starting the second half of third grade and getting ready to take his first STAAR exams. And my lil Lucas is finishing PreK and will start kindergarten next year. Time does fly.

Logan's Eye Appointment

This morning, Logan saw our favorite eye doctor, Dr. Norman. We go annually to check his eyes as a follow up from the surgery he had four years ago.

Logan loves wearing the different glasses and doing the different activities they ask him to do.

Dr. Norman said everything looked okay, but noted that Logan still has head tilt. But he can't find a reason concerning Logan's eyes for the tilting. He said there's nothing he can do for Logan to fix it. We will go back in a year unless I see signs of eye crossing or he has trouble with his vision. Dr. Norman also said Logan will probably be near sighted.

Fall Family Photo Favorites

These are my favorite pictures from our fall family photo session. I didn't share them before because I used these for our Christmas card, and did not want people to see them before they received their cards. The first picture is my absolute favorite!

My One Word: Joy

After a year of sorrow and grief, it's time to embrace joy again. Joy is a choice. It's a command from the Lord. You can have joy in the midst of difficult circumstances if you choose to. And I've finally reconciled with the fact that choosing joy doesn't mean I forget about my baby or pretend her loss didn't happen. It also doesn't mean I pretend like the loss doesn't hurt because it still does. It means choosing to believe that God is in control, working all things together for my good, and praising Him.

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again-rejoice!

New Year's Eve

We rang in the New Year at home tonight. We decluttered, watched movies, and relaxed by the fire. I made gummy bear mocktails using sparkling white grape juice and gummy bears. The boys loved them. Lucas was a gummy bear thief and stole mine and Joshua's gummy bears right out of our glasses before I poured the grape juice. Logan made it to midnight, and Lucas made it until a little past 11, which is a new record for him! Goodbye 2014. I can't wait to see what 2015 brings!
