It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving with Mom, Calli, and the girls this year. They arrived around 9am. We prepped dinner, munched on snacks, and played with the girls.

     Our lil turkeys

Then we prayed and sat down to enjoy our meal. This year we had a Honey Baked Turkey. It was delicious! And I loved that we just had to thaw and heat it. Calli brought green bean casserole and buckeyes. Mom made cornbread dressing and my favorite sweet potato pie. I made a salad, potato casserole, rolls, and Joshua's favorite cheesecake. I also made cranberry pineapple punch. Everyone loved it!

After lunch, Logan declared it a perfect Thanksgiving-the only thing that could've made it better would be to have Uncle Josh home. We sent Aunt Calli and the girls home around 1pm to nap before they had their second Thanksgiving dinner when Rob got off duty. Mom and I had the tables cleared, food put away, and dishwasher going by 1:30pm. We enjoyed a lazy afternoon of napping, watching football, and discussing what we're thankful for.

       Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Dental Check up

It was time for the boys see the dentist.

I was worried about Lucas because we have a wrestling match every night to get his teeth brushed. I'm pretty sure Joshua and I could be the WWE Tag Team champions with all the practice Lucas gives us.

Lucas got his teeth cleaned first while Logan got a panoramic X-ray.

They used this pink dye to reveal the areas they we need to brush better. Surprisingly the back of their mouths looked great. It was the front we're not getting brushed as well.

Of course Logan was compliant as always.

Lucas's teeth looked great. No cavities at all. Logan has two small spots we're watching. They haven't grown since their last check up, and he's not experiencing any pain so we'll leave them alone for now. They are in teeth he should lose soon.

Their favorite part of the visit-new toothbrushes and bouncy balls!

IBC Kids Choir~There's No One Like Jesus

Yesterday the kids choir sang There's No One Like Jesus in English, Bemba, Swahili, and Chinese. Two sisters said John 3:16 in Chinese, two sisters in Swahili, and Logan in Bemba. He got nervous, and Mrs. Karice had to whisper the last couple of lines to him, but he persevered. The girls all spoke in their native or second language, but Logan had to learn a new language. I think Logan is courageous.

Lucas's Basketball Evaluation

Lucas is super excited about playing basketball! His friend, Anderson asked him if he wanted to play at a church close to us. After Avery's party, we went for Lucas's skills evaluation. He's never played before, so this should be an adventure for him.

Last night Joshua went to three stores to find an adjustable goal that would fit inside the garage so Lucas can practice even when it's cold outside. After he got it put together (with the boys' help), Logan helped Lucas work on his dribbling and shooting. I'm pretty sure the boys will spend a lot of time shooting hoops in the garage this winter.

Celebrating Avery

This morning we celebrated our friend, Avery's 5th birthday.

Avery had a princess and super heroes party. The girls put on make up and the boys got face paint masks. Mr. Jason did an excellent job with Lucas's Captain America mask!

Logan got a Batman symbol on his hand.

Happy 5th Birthday, Avery!!! We love you!!!

Logan's First Pumpkin

Logan carved his first pumpkin tonight. He cleaned out the pumpkin by himself while we went grocery shopping. Stinky Lucas didn't want to get his hands dirty. Logan wanted a cross, so Joshua drew it for him on the pumpkin. Then handed Logan the cutting tool, and he cut the cross out himself. He's so proud of his pumpkin!
