Playdate with the Girls

Last Wednesday, we met Sunny and the girls at Nanny's house for lunch and swimming. The boys always pick up right where they left off with the girls. If you saw them together, you would think they're together every day. Nanny made peanut butter and jelly for the kids and chicken salad for the adults. Her chicken salad is my favorite. Nanny's entire pool is shaded, so it's never too hot. We ate lunch poolside and chatted. It was a relaxing afternoon.

Summer Reading Challenge Completed!

The boys finished the library's summer reading challenge last week. Logan read for twenty hours, and we both read a total of twenty hours to Lucas. They were so excited to get their medals tonight!

Splash Dash

Yesterday Logan and I completed our first 5K, the Splash Dash. Last year we did the 1K fun run, but after that Logan decided he wanted to do the long run. Our goal for this 5K was just to complete it. We both had so much fun! Logan is ready to do another one. We saw some friends that I use to work with there. We ended up doing the 5K with them. It was great to catch up with them. Melody and Sandy were great about Logan talking their ears off.

Before the race:

And we are off:

The home stretch:

And the finish line:

While Logan and I were doing the 5K, Joshua let Lucas have some fun of his own. I think next year, Lucas and Daddy might do the 1K fun run together.

We really had a good, wet time!

Planes and Friends

After church on Sunday, Joshua surprised the boys and I by taking us to Mixed Up Burgers at the Grand Prairie Airport. Joshua and I love their burgers and curly fries. The boys love watching the airplanes take off and land.

Later that afternoon, I attended a baby shower for one of my childhood friends, Karis. Karis's family and her husband, Richie's family are like family to me. They were such an important part of my childhood. Karis's grandmother, Ma, and great grandmother, Mother Gracie, were both there. I had not seen them since Karis and Richie's wedding. I love their families so much, and I'm so glad I was able to celebrate the upcoming arrival of baby Anthony with them. Karis is the cutest little pregnant girl. She has a tiny little bump, and she definitely doesn't look like she's due next month.

Remembering Hollie

Seven years ago today, Joshua's sister, Hollie, unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord. I loved Hollie. She was my friend and the person who introduced me to Joshua. It's hard to believe it's been seven years.
