Logan's First Day of Summer

Today was Logan's first day of summer. He played a lot of video games, watched a lot of NetFlix, and never made it out of his pjs. He did read several books to his brother too. I think Logan had a successful first day of summer.

Logan's Last Day of First Grade

I can't believe my baby finished first grade today! Logan has worked so hard this year. He earned a work ethic award and made the Dean's List (overall GPA of 90 or higher) for the fall and spring semesters! He has grown and learned so much. I think he finally is beginning to understand that school is about learning and not just completing assignments. He even wants to "homeschool" over the summer so "second grade will be easy next year".

For his last day, I bought Chick-fil-a and ate lunch with him. I left Lucas at home so we just had a mommy and Logan lunch.

After lunch, I went and put together a summer/end of school gift for the boys. I got them each new swim trunks, rash guards, flip flops, and sunglasses from the Children's Place. Then I went to dollar tree for the beach pails, frisbees, water squirters, goggles, popsicle cup, sand toys, water balloons, and angry bird space fruit snacks. The boys were so excited about their gifts. Let the summer fun begin!!!

Cake and Pie Auction

After church, our youth/children held a cake/pie auction to help raise money for camp. Our church does this every year, and it's always so much fun! They serve a spaghetti lunch and people bid on desserts made by church members.

This year Joshua bought Mrs. Sedella's banana pudding. It was so yummy! I say was because there might be one small serving left. When we got home from church, I set the banana pudding on the counter and went in the other room. When I came back into the kitchen, the boys had spoons and were eating straight out of the container the pudding came in. I wish I would've taken a picture.

The grand finale was four of the boys from the youth group was auctioning off themselves for yard work for a day. We have some things we are wanting to do and change in the back yard, so Joshua "bought" the boys. My boys are excited-we're still trying to explain to them that the big boys are coming to work not just play. I have a feeling I'll have to let the big boys take a few play breaks with the little boys!

The Boys' New Pets

Daddy brought home a surprise for the boys tonight. They both got their own turtle! They were so excited when we came in from Bible study and they saw them. They are still deciding on names. I love those sweet smiling faces so much!

Happy Mother's Day

Yes, sons are a gift from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. (Psalms 127:3 NET)

Ready for Summer

All of us worked in the back yard this afternoon getting ready for summer. It was a beautiful afternoon! We cleaned out the yard toys and the shed. We also bought new cushions for our patio chairs. Next we'll tackle the porch and cleaning up the patio furniture. We're ready for summer. Logan only has 6 days of school left, and I only have 3. I have classes Tuesday and Thursday this week and then the following Tuesday is a teacher work day. We're counting down!

Early Mother's Day Gift from Logan

When I picked up Logan from school today, he had a present he made in English class. Today they learned about similes and wrote a simile about their moms. They created a chart as a class, and then Mrs. Eddlemon gave them a tile and some sharpies. Logan and I laughed at some of the similes his classmates came up with for their moms. I think the one Logan thought of for me is the best and sweetest! I am so thankful God choose me to be his (and Lucas') mom!

No More Sorrow

I've had a heavy a heart the last several days for sweet friends and family who have lost loved ones or have loved ones who are very sick. Days like these make even more thankful for the hope I have in Jesus. One day all these sorrows and pains He will wipe away. Until then I cling to the hope of His promise and to the security that He always keeps His Word.

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." (Revelation 21:4 ESV)

Family Movie Night

Tonight we're chillin on the couch watching Spy Kids 2. The boys are pretty tired from enjoying Mayfest with Grandma and Papaw yesterday, so they were glad to get in pjs and watch a movie. Thankful to be snuggled up as a family enjoying a movie tonight.

Quiet Time

This morning I found Logan and Lucas sitting in my mom's chair in her room. Logan was reading Grammie's Bible, and Lucas was reading her devotional book. I watched them for a few minutes until they noticed me. When I asked what they were doing, Logan told me they were having their quite time and reading the Bible. Such a precious a moment.
