Our Week in Pictures

Sunday~The boys had their dress rehearsal for the Kids Choir Christmas program. Logan has a solo, and Lucas has a speaking part.

Monday~Buddy brought snow covered donuts and hot cocoa for breakfast and a letter from Santa. We also began advent. The boys are so excited about both things.

Tuesday~ Buddy taught us about generosity. The boys decided to bake cookies to give to their teachers. Each night, the boys take turns choosing a Christmas story for us to read. And the boys made sheep ornaments for their advent activity.

Wednesday~Buddy taught us about honesty, and we made belts of truth to match Buddy's. We read about the armor of God from Ephesians 6. The boys' new stockings came in. We love them!

Thursday~ We learned about kindness and made cards for Uncle Josh and extra cards for him to give to others in his unit. Then we made star ornaments for their trees as our advent activity.

Friday~We read about Noah and painted rainbows to remind us of God's faithfulness. I took Lucas to do his Christmas shopping for Logan and daddy. We went to Target, and had lunch at Chick-fil-a. Lucas decided to trade his toy in for an ice cream cone.

Saturday~Buddy taught us about courage and that Jesus is the Light of the world. We never have to be afraid because Jesus is always with us. Grammie treated us to lunch at Applebee's. My boys actually made healthy eating choices all on their own. Logan had applesauce and grilled chicken strips. Lucas had cheesy bread pizza with vanilla yogurt and strawberries. Oh. And Spiderman came to dinner tonight.

Peaceful Sleep

"In peace, I will lie down and sleep,
for You alone, O Lord, will keep me safe."

Advent Begins

This week we started Advent in the evenings before bed. The boys really look forward to each night, and start asking to do it around dinnertime. We light the candle(s), read a short devotional, which usually has a short activity to go with it, and pray. Then we add a piece to our nativity advent scene. The boys then take turns picking a Christmas story for us to read before bed. They are just as excited about Advent in the evening as they are about finding Buddy in the morning which is such an encouragement to me. It makes me think we might be doing something right.

Letters to Santa

This is the first year the boys have written letters to Santa. We wrote them separately, so that they wouldn't influence each other. I was pleasantly surprised that both boys put a Bible on their Christmas list. The boys gave their letters to Buddy, so he can take them to Santa tonight.

Buddy is Back!!!

Buddy, our elf, arrived from North Pole this morning with a note from Santa. This year, Buddy will be helping us learn more about Jesus and how to treat others. Buddy also brought some snow covered donuts and hot chocolate! He even knew to bring Logan milk free hot chocolate. The boys were so excited this morning that there were no complaints about getting dressed for school.
